Coach Development Workshops

Teaching Games for Understanding in a rugby context

Date: Monday 21st May
Time: 5:30pm to 8:00pm
Where: Gordon Spratt Reserve, Papamoa.

Using games in training is a player-centred approach that engages players, develops decision-making, tactical awareness and skill acquisition which ultimately leads to accelerated learning.

This workshop will help coaches to build an understanding of Teaching Games for Understanding and apply the principles in a rugby specific practical context. The first 60 minutes will be led by Bay of Plenty Rugby Union staff with Under 11 players. Following that we will head inside for the workshop.
