All coaches and assistant coaches who are involved with teams from Under 14 and above are required to attend a Rugby Smart Coaching Workshop every season. NZRU Policy makes this course compulsory.
Rugby Smart has evolved into a very valuable resource for Rugby Coaches of all levels. While its main objective continues to be injury prevention, the 90 minute interactive workshop provides practical coaching tips and strategies based around safe technique for the contact area of Rugby.
The Teenage Rugby Smart modules will be run separately from the senior Rugby Smart modules to enable a more focused approach to working with teenagers.
It is a NZR requirement that 2 coaches/managers per team attend any one of the courses that will be held in the wider Bay of Plenty region.
