Bay of Plenty Volcanix will host Otago in their first Mitre 10 Farah Palmer Cup Championship final this Saturday, 12:00pm at Blake Park. The Volcanix fast tracked themselves to the final following their 27 – 17 win over their Otago opponents in Dunedin last time the two sides met on 7 October.

Kaiako Matua (Head Coach) Brendon Webby has selected a strong Nga Pou mua (forward pack) for this weekend’s Championship final. Luka Connor will combine with hooker Lily Florence and Ereti Williams to pack down the front row. Co-captain and Volcanix Player of the Year Kaci James will combine with Julia Buescher to complete the tight five. Volcanix forward of the year Christie Yule will start in the number six jersey, joined by Black Fern Les Elder at open side and Sequoia Te Aonui remaining at number eight.

Jade Tuilaepa ruled out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury will see Ora Williams combine with Shaye Whareaorere respectively at nine and ten. The powerful mid-field combination of Tania-Rose Raharuhi and Aryahn Clarke is unchanged, along with the swift outside Pou muri (backs) who will look to exploit space out wide, with Volcanix Back of the Year Autumn-Rain Stephens-Daly and Sapphire Tapsell on their respective left and right wings.

Lock Makayla Daysh returns to the playing 22, alongside first five eight Sarah Kay who will don jersey number 20.
