New Sponsor Agreements for BOP Rugby
Bay of Plenty Rugby Union are pleased to announce several new sponsorship agreements for 2008.
Rotorua Central Mall, who began sponsoring BOPRU in 2007, has extended their sponsorship contract for a further term. John Powell who oversaw the contract negotiations for Rotorua Central Mall said, "The Board of Pukeroa Oruawhata Holdings Ltd is proud to continue its support and association with BOPRU and the Steamers through renewed 'Rotorua Central Mall' sponsorship."
"It seems more and more Bay businesses are opening their doors at the prospect of being part of the team that rebuilds BOPRU into that force it should be." Commented BOPRU CEO Stuart Harvey on new sponsorhip acquisitions for Bay of Plenty Rugby.
Tauranga based Law firm Cooney Lees Morgan were eager to join the BOPRU Back of Jersey sponsorship ranks with the sponsoring of Steamers #8 Jersey for the coming 2008 Air New Zealand Cup season. When quizzed about their sponsorship Practice Manager Christopher Mayes has the following to say; "Cooney Lees Morgan is pleased to sponsor the BOPRU and rugby in the Bay. We are keen to see the Steamers return to the days when they held the shield and made the NPC semi finals. As supporters of the community we have got along side the BOPRU to show our support. C'MON THE BAY!"
Another local businessman, Tony Smith from Farmer Jones Meat Market, was very upbeat about sponsoring the Steamers halfback jersey saying "For the past few years Farmer Jones has made a concerted effort to support many sporting and charity activities including Cancer Society and Surf Life Saving. So when approached to provide sponsorship to the Steamers we were immediately excited at the prospect. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship wiht rugby and its supporters in the Bay of Plenty."
