STEAMERS UPDATE
Welcome to the first of the Bay of Plenty Steamers Monday Updates.
This week’s edition has two purposes. The first is to reiterate that the Steamers next pre-season match is against Hawkes Bay in Napier on Friday 16th July 2010. (Please disregard any earlier information.
The Steamers were relatively injury free after the game against Manawatu in Reporoa last Friday.
This weeks warm-up with Hawkes Bay is the second of three preparatory matches, before the Steamers first ITM Cup match against Waikato at the Waikato Stadium in Hamilton on Saturday 31st July 2010.
The second purpose of this update is to introduce the Steamers support team. While Head Coach Sean Horan, Assistant Coach Steve Miln and Manager Ross Everiss are well known, there are a support team that play a vital part in team preparation and on match day.
Physiotherapist Paul Cameron is a stalwart of Bay of Plenty rugby, and is the first port of call for players in remaining injury free. Strength and Condition Coach Murray Pedersen and Assistant S&C Coach Abby Galenzoski ensure that the side is well prepared for the physical side of the ITM Cup campaign.
Analysis and Defence Coach Paul Feeney is part of the management think tank that plots Steamers tactics.
