BAY OF PLENTY GET ROLLER MILLS TOURNAMENT CAMPAIGN BACK ON TRACK

October 13

The Bay of Plenty Roller Mills team got their tournament back on track, when they ran away from King Country on day four, in a eleven try romp.

A dominant performance from the Bay of Plenty representatives saw the Bay side in control throughout the encounter. After leading 32 nil at the half way break in play, the Bay side kept up the momentum to post a 69 nil victory.

Hayze Perham, a key player in the Rotorua Maroon side who annexed the 2011 Tai Mitchell Shield, led the way for the Bay with three touchdowns. Te Ra Whata, who along with Perham grabbed a brace against Northland, added two more tries against King Country.

Rewita Biddle who was called into the side as a late replacement celebrated with a try, with the other touchdowns awarded to Jordan Togoai, Kyle Hamilton, Carlos Price, Dary Ly and Rueben Taylor. Bay of Plenty player of the day (selected by King Country) Eru Hohepa was in superb kicking form adding seven conversions to the eleven touchdowns.

The Bay side need another authoritative victory tomorrow, when they play hosts Thames Valley – with a bonus point victory likely to ensure a safe passage to the tournament semi-finals.
