2019 Rangiuru Women's Rugby Coaching Positions (Volunteer Basis)

The Rangiuru Womens Rugby team was re-established in 2016, under the guidance of Jimi Mclean and Mark Edmonds.
Throughout the past 4 years we have had approximately 50 players register for Rangiuru and have now secured a strong contingent of players who have found their home at Rangiuru. With Women’s Rugby on the rise locally, nationally and internationally we would like to continue to contribute to this popularity by building a strong coaching team that will lead the team in the 2019 season.

The Rangiuru Rugby Club are seeking expressions of interest for the following positions, to work alongside Jimi McLean for the upcoming 2019 Womens 15s Season:
• Forwards Coach
• Backs Coach
• Strength and Conditioning Trainer
Suitable candidates will have the following attributes:
• Club and team focussed with great people and communication skills.
• Passionate, dependable and results driven.
• Thorough in their short term and long term planning.
• Ability to motivate and encourage those around them.

Seeking individuals to represent the best interests of Club Rugby in the Bay and gain sports administration experience (Volunteer position)

Senior Club Working Group Nominations Now Open:

We are now beginning the process of appointing members (men and women) for the Senior Club Working Group (SCWG) and are seeking individuals who can confidently represent the best interests of Senior Clubs, sub-unions and BOP Rugby for the next 12 months. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in sports administration and become involved in advising and making recommendations to the BOPRU Board and management to ensure the future of our senior club rugby is strong.

We are asking our clubs to please assist with the appointment process by passing this information on to key people within your club who fit the skill set (listed below).

Meetings will be held at a minimum of four times per annum and will be approximately 1.5 hours in duration and usually held between 7pm and 8:30pm on a weekday at a designated venue. There will also be times outside of meetings when members are called on to assist with decision making.

The following is an overview of the SCWG and attached is the Terms of Reference which provides more information around the purpose, roles and responsibilities of this group.

1. Membership
1.1 There shall be 3 Members from each Sub-Union (nominated by each Sub-Union), 1 Board representative and 1 management representative.
1.2 Nominations will be for the period 1 September to 30 August and received and ratified by the Board.
1.3 Members should be chosen according to their skill base and their ability to represent the interests of BOP Rugby interests as well as Sub-Unions and Clubs. The following skills will be sought:
• Ability to elicit and understand a wide range of rugby community views;
• access to/contact with a wide range of rugby community networks;
• interest in Rugby and sports and recreation;
• a non political approach to Rugby issues; and
• passion and genuine commitment for the betterment of BOP Rugby.
1.4 The Senior Club Rugby Working Group Chairperson will be the Board Chairperson or as determined by the Board. The Deputy Chairperson will be elected from within the Senior Club Rugby Working Group at the first scheduled meeting for the year.

We have also attached an application form to be completed and returned to clubadmin@boprugby.co.nz .Applications received by Friday 31st August will be forwarded to each sub union to then decide on the preferred nominations.


Club Coaching Position for 2019 Rotoiti Sports Club (Volunteer Basis)

The Rotoiti Sports and Community Association are seeking expressions of interest for the coaching positions for our two senior men’s rugby teams (Premier and Premier Development).

Ideally, suitable candidates will be;
• Club and team focused with great ‘people’ and communication skills
• Passionate, dependable and driven by positive results
• Meticulous in their planning to achieve both short & medium-term goals
• Able to motivate & encourage buy-in by players and staff

Applicants should have previous coaching experience. We are looking for coaches who have the drive and ability to guide a team, as well as the skills and ability, to develop players to their full potential.

Bay of Plenty Rugby Union is seeking coaches for the following teams:

Western Bay of Plenty Under 14 Boys'
Central Bay of Plenty Under 14 Boys'
Central Bay of Plenty Under 15 Girls'
Eastern Bay of Plenty Under 15 Girls'

Under 15 Girls Programme:

Monday 9th July: Under 15 Girls sub-union Carnival – Eastern Bay of Plenty, Central Bay of Plenty, Western Bay of Plenty all playing. A Bay of Plenty Under 15 side will be selected from this carnival.

Under 14 Boys Programme:

16th and 17th July: Under 14 Boys sub-union Carnival in Whakatane – Eastern Bay of Plenty, Central Bay of Plenty, Western Bay of Plenty Coast, Western Bay of Plenty City.

Mitre 10 Cup/Farah Palmer Cup Game Day Volunteers

Bay of Plenty Rugby Union are now looking for volunteers for the upcoming Mitre 10 Cup and Farah Palmer Cup season for our five Steamers home games and 3 Volcanix Home games!

Current roles we have available include:

As game day volunteer, you will receive your own t-shirt and a unique opportunity to experience working in a sports setting.  The Steamers will play 5 home games (3 in Rotorua, 2 in Tauranga), with the Volcanix playing 3 home games (locations to be confirmed) with the possibility of additional semi-finals/finals games.  Game day staff will always be expected to demonstrate a positive attitude and exceptional customer service as a member of the Bay of Plenty Rugby staff.
