VACANCY - Women and Girls Co-Ordinator

Due to the recent selection of one of our team into a professional sports team, a full time (40 hours per week) five (5) month fixed term opportunity now exists within the Community Rugby team at Bay of Plenty Rugby Union.

The position is a hybrid that involves components of the Womens Rugby Development Manager and the Girl Code Co-Ordinator with the official title of the role being, "Women and Girls Co-Ordinator."

Bay of Plenty Rugby is the third largest provincial rugby union in New Zealand, has a rapidly growing women’s game and is renowned as the home of 7s.  Our Community rugby team delivers all forms of rugby across the region from juniors (U6-U13), secondary schools (U14 – 1st XV), seniors (Senior Men and Senior Women) and U16 & U18 boys and girls representative teams.  Included in the community space is coach, referee and team managers development, administration support for our clubs, schools and volunteer committees and the fastest growing area of all, RIPPA and Rip Rugby. 

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic person to join our Community Rugby team to  lead and implement activity that promotes the game, delivers expert resource and player development opportunities that add value and increase the enjoyment, growth, and development of rugby for young women and girls.  Emphasis is placed on the execution of the Women and Girls activator plan and related Key Performance Indicators to engage and interact with more girls and young women in PLAY opportunities that sit outside traditional or formal rugby offerings. 

To be successful in this role you will be hard working, diligent, passionate about making a difference to the lives of our tamariki and rangatahi, organised, with a sharp eye for attention to detail. You'll need to be able to talk with a wide range of people and have strong written communication skills.

Some hours of work will be in the evenings (after school) so you'll need to be flexible.

A relevant tertiary degree in Sport and Recreation is desirable, but not a necessity.

You will hold a clean full drivers licence (can drive a manual), tow and reverse a trailer beneficial but training will be provided and have a willingness to travel throughout the Bay to connect with our people.
