What is the Rugby Smart Coaching Course about?

All coaches and assistant coaches who are involved with teams from Under 14 and above are required to attend a Rugby Smart Coaching Workshop every season. NZRU Policy makes this course compulsory.

Rugby Smart has evolved into a very valuable resource for Rugby Coaches of all levels. While its main objective continues to be injury prevention, the 90 minute interactive workshop provides practical coaching tips and strategies based around safe technique for the contact area of Rugby.

It is a NZR requirement that 2 coaches/managers per team attend any one of the courses that will be held in the wider Bay of Plenty region.

Before attending a Rugby Smart all coaches must complete a 2023 Coach Registration form.

Simply find your club and click on the link to register as a Coach for the 2023 Season. If you coached in 2022 you should receive your pre-populated registration form via your email with your details already completed. Simply click submit.
