The following is a list of all Bay of Plenty Rugby led community rugby events and activities that are either cancelled or postponed.
COMMUNITY RUGBY EVENTS CANCELLED:
Western Bay Rippa Rugby Modules
Bay of Plenty U16/U18 Sevens trial/training Tournament – 21st and 22nd March
Te Ika a Māui 7’s (NISS7s) – 30TH and 31ST March
Bay of Plenty AGM - 25th March, Rotorua
- Will now take place via video conference on Wednesday 25th March, 7pm
Women’s Invitational Festival – March 28th
Bay of Plenty Women’s Club Rugby Opening Festival – April 5th
Holiday Programmes scheduled for Term 1 Holidays in Rotorua and Whakatane
COMMUNITY RUGBY EVENTS POSTPONED:
All coaching courses are postponed until further notice
All Referee courses and camp postponed until further notice
Referee Education meetings postponed until further notice
All Girls Rippa Fun Festival - 25th March, Rotorua postponed until further notice
Rippa Fun Festival – 1st April, Rotorua postponed until further notice
FMG Community Engagement Day at Eastern Districts – 7th April postponed until further notice
FMG Community Engagement Day at Katikati – 8th April postponed until further notice
- Community Engagement Days planned for Opotiki (29th April) and Reporoa (30th April) will be reviewed in the coming weeks
Rural Rip/Rippa Fun Festival – 9th April, Rotorua postponed until further notice
Senior Club Rugby – postponed until at least Saturday 18 April
COMMUNITY EVENTS STILL GOING AHEAD:
Referee fitness trainings across the three sub unions will continue and the S & C coaches will be adhering to Ministry of Health guidelines around physical distancing etc.
Junior Rugby and Secondary School Rugby still scheduled to start Saturday 2nd May 2020 as no decisions have been made as the start date is beyond the April 18th date – will reassessed as direction comes from above.
Community Rugby Manager Pat Rae has been working very closely with all of the Chairperson’s of the many volunteer committees that administer community rugby in the Bay of Plenty. These include:

BOP Secondary Schools
Conversations have been started with these people so that we can lead our people make some firm decisions.
Our advice to you all, is to remain connected to your club or school so that you can provide input to your relevant delegate on these committees, so that when the time comes, they can make informed decisions on your behalf.
