While the Farmlands Baywide Premier Competition reaches an important stage this weekend to determine the Top 8 there is plenty of other epic games across other competitions as teams look to take first round honours.
In the Premier Development grade, Te Puna Development are assured of taking out the First Round, going un-beaten so far this season and they will want to finish on a high when facing Te Teko this weekend at Dunderdale Park, KO 1.15pm.
In Division 1 the first round winner is already decided before Saturday kicks off. Ngongotaha sit top of the table and the club is proving strong this year with their reserve team also finishing top of the table. Ngongotaha reserves are hosting Marist St Michaels at home this weekend in the CBOP Senior Reserve final. Ngongotaha’s hard work over the past couple of years has paid off, with the club entering a third team into the second round competition.
There is a log jam to decide the Top 4 teams to play in the Premier 2 competition with Rotorua clubs, Marist St Michaels, Kahukura and Waikite all be playing this weekend to secure a top 4 finish.
In the Eastern Bay of Plenty local Senior Competition, Edgecumbe will host Waimana at home in the first round final. While in the Western Bay of Plenty local Senior Competition, Katikati have been the stand out team and have claimed the Western Bay of Plenty title. Going on recent form they will be favourites in the Baywide Division 2 Competition starting next week, having gone so close in 2018, losing the final to Reporoa.
