RMG

The Referee Management Group (RMG) is a Bay of Plenty Rugby Union constituted advisory group. 

Functions:

1. To govern all aspects of the refereeing in the Bay of Plenty region;
   
2. To provide oversight of the day to day management of the referees;
   
3. To provide a delegate or delegates as appropriate to represent the referees at BOPRU meetings or to vote on behalf of the referees at BOPRU meetings;
   
4. To ensure referees compliance with the BOPRU constitution;
   
5. To advise the BOPRU board on matters of policy within their specialist area;
   
6. To control Bay of Plenty rugby referees’ strategic direction. 
   

Composition:  Three individuals will form an appointment panel comprised of one member of the referees elected from each Sub-Union (“RMG Appointment Panel”).  The appointment panel will then appoint a Referee Management Group which shall comprise:

• (a) Five members appointed by the RMG Appointment Panel;
  
• (b) One staff member from the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union;
  
• (c) One Bay of Plenty Rugby Union Board member.

At the conclusion of each RMG term, an Appointments Panel made up of a representative from each sub-union area meet to select the Referee Management Group for the next term.

PORTFOLIO ROLES
