Our Referees are graded into 5 levels, aligned with the New Zealand Rugby's new Community Rugby Referee Development Framework. (C.R.R.D.F) Each of those levels of referees has a spokesperson that is responsible for supporting them in the refereeing journey. We like to call them, Level Managers. Currently we have three people who have kindly volunteered to take on those added duties/supporting roles (portfolios) within our club, Nick Hogan, Peter Hastings and Peter Morgan.
Nick is currently our only Level 5 Referee. He travels the world refereeing on the HSBC World Sevens circuit and NZR's NPC.
Peter Hastings is a vastly experienced referee with over 20 years experience. In 2025, he won the Te Hapai Community Impact Award at the New Zealand Rugby Awards for his work in Mental Health.
Peter Morgan is also a vastly experienced referee. Currently a Level 4 referee within the club, a former rugby player, Peter has been refereeing Baywide Premier rugby for the past 7 years.
