2021 Season Wrap-Up - Feedback

Firstly, we thank all our volunteers for their commitment to the Bay of Plenty Rugby Referees Club in 2021. We are always looking to grow the club and hear the voices of our members, because YOU are the club.

With the 2021 Community Rugby season now behind us, we can now reflect upon where we are, and where we want to be going as a club. From a massively COVID-affected season in 2020, it was great to achieve a near-complete club and school season this year (with just a few games near the end suffering from the latest lockdowns), and service 98% of all fixtures from Under-11 to Premier Men - many of us are grateful just to be a part of it.

Please click here to complete the Season Wrap-up Form (if the link does not work, copy/paste https://www.sporty.co.nz/viewform/185634 into your browser).

The purpose of this form is 2-fold:

  • Provide feedback and identify opportunities for our club to grow in 2022
  • Self-nominate Area Representatives to appoint the Referee Management Group for the 2022 season - click here to view the RMG Policy which outlines the scope of this role.

Please complete this form by Thursday 14th October.

We want to hear your feedback. Please take as much or as little time as you can to have your say. Anything is valued. Not all questions are compulsory, however the more you can feed back, the better we can grow YOUR club. We want to capture where we have got to as a club, and how we can continue to improve and fine-tune. Not limiting your thoughts, but four focus areas would be coaching, training and development, appointments and panels. CLICK HERE to view our strategic plan to see where your ideas could fit!

On October 14th, the Referee Management Group and Portfolio holders are meeting to review the season and begin to draft actions for next season. These discussions will be melded with your feedback to develop our plan for 2022. I encourage that if you have more that you'd like to share/contribute outside of writing it into this form, that you have a conversation with your panel manager/coach coordinator, or RMG member so that it can be included when considering our plans moving forward. Anything discussed outside of these channels will run the risk of not capturing your brilliant ideas and opportunities for our club!

If you have any questions or need help completing the form, don't hesitate to contact our chairman David Hodgson.
