It's no secret that referees get the bad with the good when it comes to experiences at rugby matches. Our goal is to prevent as much of that bad as possible, and intervene with support for clubs and schools when we notice there's a negative trend developing.

What is RefLIVE?

RefLIVE is a tool which is brilliant in its simplicity.

It is a web-based platform which enables referees to provide insights directly to BOPRU after every match, covering team abuse, referee wellbeing and overall performance. BOPRU receives insights to know when and where to assist referees. and support clubs and school.

Referee Abuse is an unfortunate and unnecessary element that pops up on more occasions than is acceptable in Bay of Plenty. BOPRU believes strongly in supporting the wellbeing of our Referees. The more data and information we can gather about clubs, teams and referee experiences, the better positioned we will be to make positive changes before the big issues have a chance to develop.​

What features does RefLIVE have for referees?

• A "Match Assessment" to provide feedback on the clubs/schools involved, and reflect on your own experience
• A "GROW" form to self-relfect on your match against the goals you have set, and have Referee Coaches access this information to best support you.
• An Individual Development Plan (IDP) to set long term goals for the season and share these with Referee Coaches

How to access and use RefLIVE

• Activate your account (only need to do this once). An email was sent to you in early May - if you did not receive this, or can't find it, register using the same email address you used to complete your referee registration.
• Go to dashboard.reflive.com to sign in
• Complete a new Match Assessment, GROW, or IDP by clicking the green NEW REPORT button at the top of the screen
• Select the match info from the dropdowns as applicable and complete each question, then submit, EASY!
• Match Assessments can be completed by ANY MATCH OFFICIAL, including referees, ARs, Coaches, Sideline Managers, Associate Referees... some questions may end up being not applicable, but the data we capture about our clubs and schools will be very useful if we have more 

IMPORTANT - RefLIVE reporting provides a snapshot of wellbeing data, and does NOT replace disciplinary, abuse or match reports when/where required.
