Part-Time HR Business Partner: Bay of Plenty Rugby Union
We Grow People – help us grow our people, grow our culture and grow rugbyBay of Plenty Rugby Union (BOPRU) is on the lookout for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our team on a part-time, 12 month fixed-term basis. This is a unique opportunity to shape and support our organisation to grow into a high-performing, values-driven culture in one of New Zealand’s best provincial rugby unions.
About the role: Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll be a trusted advisor to our Senior Leadership Team and managers, helping to drive organisational effectiveness and foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
You’ll lead initiatives across:
- Culture & Engagement – champion a values-aligned, people-first culture
- Coaching – empower leaders with practical HR support and coaching- Talent Management – oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies
- Learning & Development – identify and implement impactful L&D initiatives aligned with our strategy
- HR Operations – ensure compliance with NZ employment law and HR best practices
- Health & Safety – promote a safe and healthy work environment
You’ll have:
- a Bachelor’s degree in HR or equivalent experience
- at least 4 years in a HR advisory or business partner role
- strong practical knowledge of NZ employment law
- proven coaching and leadership development experience strong EQA passion for sport and community is a bonus!
