On Wednesday 8th May we saw players, team management and invited guests gather for the Volcanixs wider squad induction evening.

A mihi whakatau by Matua Jack Te Moana set the scene for what was a special occasion.

BOP Rugby Board Chair, Scott Kahle, welcomed the group on behalf of the Union followed by Les Elder & Noi Elmiger, guest speakers, sharing their experiences and words of wisdom.

Coaches and Management spoke about the vision for the season and to end our evening, guests enjoyed time at the end of the evening' to strengthen connections over light refreshments.

Head coach Paul Tietjens says '"From a coaches perspective, it was awesome to provide an opportunity for the players & management to connect at an evening such as this one. For any female player being selected in a Bay of Plenty Wider Training Squad, this is always special & must be celebrated. This particular evening not only allowed us to connect & outline our vision, but it allowed us to celebrate the first step our wāhine have taken to becoming a Volcanix team member"
