Gatherings Limit to 10 people, for now

Bay of Plenty Community Rugby Manager Pat Rae says Sport New Zealand has amended the number of people permitted to gather from 100 (indoor and outdoor) to 10. For sport and recreation, a gathering includes spectators, players, officials and support staff.

Rae says gathering restrictions do not apply to professional sports players, officials or support staff.

“What does this mean for community rugby? It gives our clubs a little longer to get ready to train/open and play.

“If teams at clubs and schools want to train before May 25, they still have to have their Covid-19 Safety Plans approved by Bay Rugby and they’ll have to comply to this new gathering limit.”

This gathering number will be reviewed by the government on Monday, May 25, 2020.

Everything else we released yesterday remains the same.
